( pastel tones mood board )

I felt that I had to do a mood board to support my last post, so here it is :)
I love the dark rich tones in timbers such as walnut and rosewood. I find that a lot of dark timbers compliment pastel tones beautifully. I did this mood board very quickly so I apologize now, hehehe. But I hope that it displays the harmonious balance I was talking about in the last post (the beauty in pastel).

( the beauty in pastel )

Pastel shades always remind me of those lovely 1950s interiors... cream, mint green, baby blue and baby pink fabrics, mixed with dark timbers. Well now that we are in the 'naughties' (is that the correct term, hehehe), pastel tones are just as lovely and can look stunning when used correctly and subtly . As a designer I always like to take inspiration from my surrounding and beautiful images that I can put together on a mood board.
I personally, am a huge fan of strong, deep, rich colours... but the careful introduction of pastel tones in your sample board can create a harmonious balance to any piece of furniture or interior. The images below would even make a complete pastelphobe fall in love with these muted tones.

( bathe with a view )

At the end of a hard day at work, all you want to do is run a deep hot bath and just lay there until your finger tips go all wrinkly. If only my bath was one of the ones below... I would enjoy this pleasure a hundred time more. Not only are they beautiful bathrooms, but have beautifully framed peaceful views... Bliss :)

( spooky loveliness )

It's nearly Halloween... yay! I get so excited about Halloween. I'm not sure if it's because Halloween always makes me feel really autumny and cozy, or because I can dress up in a ridiculous costume :)
Anyway, I'm excited all the same. Instead of offering tips on how to create that perfect spooky Halloween window display, I thought I would post some lovely images that I think are spooky, yet beautiful. I find a lot of old, run-down interiors and architecture, have that magical hypnotic elegance about them which is perfectly fitting for this time of year. Here are some of my favourite examples. Happy Halloween :)

( just great bedrooms from my pinterest )

I've recently been pinning a lot of lovely bedroom on my Pinterest account, and thought it might be a nice idea to share them with you all. Each of these beautiful bedrooms have a few elements I am very much drawn to. Whether it is the colour palette, furniture, furniture layout, a gorgeous piece or a combination of materials and elements, I just find these rooms below very captivating. Which is your favourite bedroom?
Here are some of my favourites. Unfortunately, I don't know the original source for a lot of them, but for some there is a direct link below the image in the 'board' titled 'INTERIOR - Bedrooms'. I hope you love them as much as I do :)

( delicious desk )

When I came across this tonight, I had to do a post on this sexy little desk. Isn't it lovely! It belongs to designer Brad Ford, from his Chelsea apartment in New York. I just love the colour and style of this piece... and the lamp, oh, and the little stool... I want, I want, I want, hehehe ;)
