( London design festival is here )

As many of you may or may not be aware, London Design Festival is well under way. With so many design events to see, it's hard to know where to start. I am huge fan of both Tent London and Super Brands London.
Tent, located at the Old Truman Brewery, London E1, is most definitely one of my favourite and one I will be attending this weekend (look out for a post about this next week). Now in its sixth year at the Old Truman Brewery, Tent London presents over 200 international exhibitors, showing the very latest in contemporary interior products - furniture, lighting, ceramics, textiles, materials and accessories.
Over 19,000 international trade buyers, high calibre specifiers, opinion forming media and design savvy consumers from 44 different countries attend the four-day event. It is regarded as the most cutting-edge and progressive trade exhibition during the London Design Festival and must attend for those who need to be seen with their finger on the pulse.

Super Brands London, co-located with Tent London - a main destination hub during the London Design Festival, the exhibition occupies a 2,500m² ground floor space of the ex-industrial, now impressive exhibition space - the Old Truman Brewery; bringing together two floors of pure design.

( autumn is coming... with black, white, jade and timber )

TREND SPOT: 
Autumn is just around the corner and I am loving the crisp warmth of black, white, jade green.... and of course, natural timber! 
This beautiful Spanish house is a great source of inspiration with it's charm, character, traditional influences and contemporary comfortable feel. house. It was designed created by the Madrid architectural company Abaton. I adore the balance between the colours and multiple materials used in this home. I'm not normally a big fan of making new joinery look aged (painting effects), but the dining room storage cupboard work perfectly.

( London living - my winning photo )

I'm so excited at the moment! I woke up yesterday thinking it was going to be just a normal Monday. I was in work for 9:00am on the dot and checked my emails as usual. I was extremely excited to see an email from a very popular London blog called  'London Living'. I had entered a photography competition through them about 2 weeks ago. The competition requirements were to upload a personal photo that represents your Summer of London, so I thought, 'why not'. To my shock and 'over' excitement, I WON!
Here is my winning picture below. You will be able to see my photo along with all the runners-up, at the Getty Images Gallery in Stratford, London in the Autumn. I'm so excited to see one of my photographs in a prestigious London gallery :)

( exciting products by MyYour UK )

Most designers are inspired by nature to created design objects. Just look at some of the wonderful products by MyYour, an Italian design house 'where the most innovative design ideas are chosen and transformed into new and unique decorative solutions... These solutions are able to express elegance and color, aesthetics and functionality, versatility and prestige.'I have chosen some of my favourite pieces of lighting and furniture by MyYour which really show how fun and sophistication can work extremely well together to create some beautiful organic designs.
MyYour will be showcasing their wonderful products at this years 100% Design exhibition in London during September... Go down and have a look.

( stunning staircase lighting by PSLAB )

This is more then modern design; it is a work of art. Via Plastolux,  PSLAB  created a fixture that could hang in a tight spiral staircase. The aim was to create a lighting concept that would mimic the staircase’s iconic spiral and also compliment the structure. There is no doubt that it opens up the stairs and looks absolutely fantastic.

“An imposing insertion was made in the shape of a ceiling mounted fixture composed of hanging channels reaching out from the ceiling in a circular manner identical to the staircase. The lighting installation hangs from a partially recessed supporting plate with extruded profiles that serve to firmly set the vertical channels. These channels vary in length, giving the impression of an ascending structure.”

Your Friday Colour Palette...

Lets all please pray for a better English Summer, as so far the Summer has been a wash out :(

With this weeks colour palette I decided to go for a fresh pale green tone to make you all feel all summery! We are seriously lacking the Summer sun here in London, so I wanted to create this fresh colour palette to get myself into the Summer vibe... I hope it works for you all too. 

I love this holiday home porch in the first image... It makes me want to be by the coast, sat at my porch, over looking a calm sea... I can only dream ;)

( free-standing baths by Drummonds )

Drummonds was founded in 1988 by Drummond Shaw. He has been passionate about luxury classic bathrooms all his working life. The company was set up when his searches for these items dried up and so he turned to manufacturing. 

They  manufacture all of their own products in their own workshops and are unique in this way, having their own brass foundry, bath casting plant and chinaware plant enables them to work with these materials and create timeless classics.

I just love all of their free-standing baths. Drummonds also do loads of other very beautiful and classic bathroom products.
