I love when I enter a room / building and instantly get a sense of the history attached to the space. When re-designing / renovating an existing building, every great designer knows how important it is to maintain its historic integrity. It is also important as a designer to move forward in how they achieve a contemporary design in the confines of listed buildings (if this is the brief set out by the client). Below are a few images of some interiors where I feel that the designer has achieved this balance perfectly.
