( the launch pad house )

WOW - I adore this London home by Architects Wells Mackereth. From the moment I saw it, I didn't know what to admire first. Almost every component in this project is perfection! Architect Sally Mackereth says that 'The builders call it the Thunderbird house', and you can clearly see why! The design of this build is full of excitement and clever gadgets. This aside, the general design is truly fantastic and so clever, I just LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!
Where do I start... The hydraulically operated door leading out to the paved garden space is perfectly scaled for this open planned space. There are some great textures and materials used here which really creates plenty of interest and additional excitement as your eye is taken round this incredible space. The free-standing furniture throughout this home are from some of my favourite designers, such as George Nelson, Florence Knoll, George Nakashima, and Jaime Hayon, to name but a few.
This London home is like a play ground for adults, but most importantly still maintains a comfortable homely feeling.
